Mt Colah Hornsby Ulysses start here for all rides. McDonalds carpark is on the cnr of Lady St and Pacific Hwy. Mt Colah. Caltex are about 1 km north on the highway and stock Vortex Premium (98 Ron) if you need to top up. Have a coffee before we head off.

Radar is used at Playfair to catch speeders. This is a 60 zone but looks like an 80 zone. Once you pass Caltex at Parklands Rd control your speed for 1.5 kms until you hit the 80 sign.

60 zone starts after the F3 intersection

This radar controlled road is a 60 zone. Long straight and safe road and therefore perfect trap.

Approaching old disused toll gates. Take turn to route 83 on left

Easy radar trap here as 60 kpm starts. You must slow down as it is often monitored by mobile radar.

Known as the PITS, this is the weekend haunt of almost all motorcyclists travelling north. Stop and pick up hopeful riders here , if any.

Turn off route 83. Follow signs pointing to Newcastle

Ride past this turn off. Some 90 to 100 kpm limits apply. Also fixed radar here nearby.

Take this turn off

Horse riding signs on your left. 100 kpm from here on.
Open road .Good visibility

100kpm for much of this road. Speed monitored by mobile radar

Popular motorcycle stop. ULP (91) petrol across
the road. Always busy with good food. Garden seating or verandah or inside seating. Good to stop here for leg stretch and head count. Toilet break

Take ramp off to left, then immediately turn right on Wisemans Ferry road once at top of ramp road

Rejoing Route 83 ( Pacific Hwy) and go straight ahead

Keep following route 83 signs now and turn left at this big red light traffic controlled T junction. We will use a marker here

Route 83 is called Central Coast highway as well as being known as the Pacific Hwy

Turn right at lights. We will use a marker here

Traveling south on Woy Woy rd

Rural road but a little narrow. Maximum 80kpm. Some is 60 kpm. Some steep road walls here and drop offs

Turn rt off Woy Woy into Rawson Rd , then almost immediately turn left again into Railway St

Our destination for a fish and chips luncheon. you can buy cooked fish here and enjoy some park seats in the shade looking over Woy Woy Channel. Apparently not too busy here. Possibly ride east along Brick Wharf road about 1 km to Lion Park
