This route starts just off I-95 at University Plaza in Newark, DE. University Plaza has a great place to eat called Shellhammer's and a couple of place to gas up before this 90 mile loop.

S Harmony Road takes you through a small neighborhood with strange road dividers that snake to slow traffic down, be alert!

You have just crossed route 4. If you had made a right at the last light you would shortly arrive at Delawares largest care facility the Christiana Hospital.

Turn right here and get in the left lane the you need to turn left onto Upper Pike Creek Road.

This is a sharp left hand bend, nice road but this corner is regularly covered in gravel, be careful.

Make left then an immediate right. Watch for traffic, people sometimes drive relatively fast through this valley.

You are now entering the secodn half of pike creek road. This section has some nice twists and good pavement but be careful some morotist like to cross the double lines in these turns.

Fast lefthand sweeper along the golf course fairway, very scenic. Watch for deer and daydreaming drivers.

Cozy little S turn here. Watch for errant line crossers. This curve always has gravel on it so go slow, 20mph or less.

Route 72 intersection. Make a left here and you go down into the center of Newark.

Fast Sweeping Left Hand Turn, I can safely take this curve at about 50-60mph.

Watch your speed. Stay within 10 miles above the posted 35mph limit.

SPEED TRAP, Watch your speed cops regular post up in the entrance to this neighborhood and will take you as you come up over the rise.

Nice section of road, watch for slow drivers and hidden driveways.

Flashing yellow lights at the bottom of the hill, you have the right of way but watch for daring cagers.

The road starts to get real fun here. Pavement condition may be questionable at times always use caution and check your speed for conditions.

May be water on the road in places here, run off comes down the lsop to the right and across the road.

SHORTCUT/DETOUR- You could make a left here and cut a few miles off this loop. Hillside Mill Rd. / Mt. Cuba Road will take you across to Route 82 and back onto the loop.

This section of Centerville road may have some rough spots, not much to worry about on the straights but the turn may be dicey, be careful.

Sharp Right Hander watch for line crossers, double check your speed!!

Make a left and cross a good visibility fast straight across the reservoir, nice views here and some beautiful houses.

Huge Mansion on the right just after this left hand turn. This road is twisty and scenic but in poor condition in spots, be careful.

Sharp Left hand sweep, be careful here the road feels tight with guardrails on both sides and no shoulder. Trucks and lazy drivers tend to cross the lines and creep in your lane. Crazy bicycles ride this section of road too so watch for them.

Very blind right hand bend. Road surface may be wet and dicey, gravel, tar patch and or lane crossers or bicycles. This corner is sharper than it appears take it slow your first time.

Hard left hander. Guard rail restricts view and Snuff Mill Road up to the right create possibly dangerous intersection. Roadway is sometimes gravel covered, be careful, go slow!

Make a right up the driveway here to the top of the hill and visit me at the office. I work in the historic Garret mansion at the top of the hill.

You just passed the old snuff mill ruins on the left and the ruins of not sold old shops destroyed by flooding. If you go straight here across the bridge you will pass the NVF factory and Yorklyn Post Office.

Don't miss this left hand turn. Turn is sort of blind so take your time and watch for oncoming traffic. Also the bridge at the turn is a metal grate so take caution if it wet and use throttle control. Go to the right just over the bridge.

SHORTCUT/DETOUR - You could stay on Route 82 here and cut andother section of the loop off to shorten your trip.

Road splits go the hard right! Be careful may be gravel on the road here.

Fast and Fun Twisties here!!

Nice cruising road, 2 lanes watch hidden driveways and errant drivers.

Route 100 starts here. Very nice road twisty and smooth, enjoy the ride.

Wawa market on the left here at the light. Good spot for a break to stretch your legs, grab a snack or a drink.

Make a left here then a quick right to stay on Route 100.

Nice cruise along Brandywine Creek. The road may or may not be rough, conditions may vary.

You might see pro skater Bam Margera driving his Lambo along here if you are lucky.

I remember this intersection being confusing, road wants to take you to the left don't miss the right hand turn.

SHORCUT/DETUOR - You could go left here and take Route 926 across Wollaston Rd.

Interesting brandywine picnic area on your left. Looks like a little carnival or something, seems out of place in this rural setting.

Secondary roads, unknown condition, use necessary caution. Connecting roads back to interesting loop, may or may not be a good drive.

You are now in downtown Kennett Square. Make a right hand turn onto State St. There are good restaurants here if you are hungry. Try the Half Moon Saloon.

Main Road connection back to the twisties.

Don't miss this left hand turn. If you do miss it just go up to Route 41 and down to Penn Green Road.

Nice turns here. Watch road conditions and hidden driveways. May be lane crossers here too.

The road may split and be confusing at this intersection, be sure to stay right to make this turn.

Make a right here on Route 896, a nice road tor ride all by itself.

Road curves pretty hard to the right here, nostop sign for oncoming traffic. Signal early, you need to go very hard to the left. If the turn looks dicey or dangerous with heavy traffic or poor visibility, you can go to the right instead for a few hundred yards and pull into the Sunoco to turn around and head back the other way. Doing this will allow you to very easily and safely very off to the right where you should have turned left coming form the other direction.

Nice fast right hander here, watch oncoming traffic. May or may not have good visibility of oncoming traffic.

This left hand turn starts what may be the most scenic and fun section of this loop. Cruising country road closing with a beautiful set of twisties along a pasture and creek.

Entering MD and the good section, woohoo!

As of 7/10/2008 I have not ridden this section fo the loop but it looks way more fun than the normal Route 213, that I ride.

You can make a right here and go down and make a left onto Ricketts Mill Road to cross over to Appleton Road. Ricketts Mill road has a couple of really great turns.

Very nice fast S turn, watch for gravel and oncoming traffic.

Entering the center of Old Newark. Make thsi right hand truna nd pass some of the oldest house in Newark.

The Famous Deer Park Tavern is on your left at this turn as you cross the railroad tracks.

If it is a nice day and you are hungry at this point i recommend stopping here for a meal on the porch. You will need to go around the block to get to the parking lot. Make a left onto Delaware Ave, a left on to South College Ave and then a left onto E Main St. to get back the Deer Park

You are the main intersection and center of Campus of the University of Delaware. Tur left here to get back to the Deer Park.

Make a left here and go up one block to E Main St. on the corner you will find the Santa Fe Grill for the best burritos in town!!!

A nice S turn usually ruined by a red light right smack in the middle of the turn. Check the light and your speed before entering the turn.

Make a right onto Route 273 (Ogeltown Road) for the home stretch cruise down this 2 lane divided highway back to University Plaza and I-95 where you started.

Exit here for a great Jamaican food restaurant at the end of the ramp on the left called D&H Jamaican. You can make a left at the intersection and then exit right to get back onto Route 273 to I-95 when you are done eating.
