Start
I-405
Headed north. Didn't really enjoy this part of the ride much due to the aggressive I-405 drivers.
I-525
Traffic dies off and the trip gets enjoyable here.
Ferry to Clinton
Short ferry ride to Clinton on Whidbey Island.
Whidbey Island
Continue on Whidbey Island. This is some very nice scenery here. Traffic is low and speed limit varys between 40 and 55.
SR-20
Follow the signs to SR-20 to get to the Port Townsend Ferry. Winds here can be pretty bad, but the scenery is wonderful.
Ferry to Port Townsend
Motorcycles do not have to wait in line with the cars, which is a good thing because this small ferry is usually backed up. Stay with your bike on windy days, as the seas are large enough to tip bikes. The ride is a bit longer than the Mukilteo/Clinton ferry. The views, especially as you approach Port Townsend are wonderful.
Port Townsend
Arrive in Port Townsend. There are many nice places to grab lunch on Water St and nearby roads.
Clay Street
Just like Clay Street in Atlanta except instead of crack whores and scutters, you have ocean views and Victorian homes built in the 1800s.
Ferry back to Keystone
Unless you're moving there, eventually you'll have to drag yourself away from Port Townsend. Bypass the traffic and go into the ferry terminal by going to the left side of the booths to buy your ticket. Tick is $4.70 one way.
Whidbey Island
Reverse the route to the Clinton/Mukilteo ferry
Ferry to mainland
Head back ton Mukilteo.
SR-526
Head East on SR-526 to bypass all that I-405 / I-90 stress.
Boeing Plant
Check out the Boeing plant on your left!
SR-527 Southbound
Merge onto SR-527
SR-527
Cross SR-96 and continue south on SR-527.
SR-522
Short stint on SR-522 to get us to SR-202.
SR-202
I might have the route a bit wrong here. There is road construction here, and I am pretty sure I had to get on I-405 for one exit.
Downtown Redmond
City of Redmond. The Microsoft main campus is a few short miles away of you want to see it.
Lake Sammamish
Take the right fork to East Lake Sammamish road. After a short stretch you will start to see Lake Sammamish on your right. Look up because bald eagles are always around in the summer.
